Enhanced Berserk

When the Berserker plays his Berserk chit, his vulnerability increases to Tremendous, and he can play as if he had the Girtle of Energy activated (he can play three effort asterisks per round).

This rule is only for use with the optional combat rules!

NOTES: The Berserker's Berserk chit is the only Special Ability that penalizes the character when it is used: it requires a phase or action to activate, and after being used it requires two Rest phases to recover from. It therefore needs to be a very powerful advantage in order to convince the player to actually use it. In the regular game, it is a powerful advantage as it makes the Berserker very hard to kill.

But when using the optional combat rules, the advantage it offers the Berserker is reduced, as the Berserker is vulnerable to many attacks even when Berserk. If you use the optional combat rules, and find that the Berserker rarely uses his Berserk chit, give this modification a try. It makes the Berserk chit much more useful, and it seems a reasonable effect for being berserk. Contributed by Jay Richardson.
