Introduction

This wiki was created specifically for the Magic Realm Community to play in and create in. In the current absence of a website and a forum to share ideas it was obvious that a wiki would be perfect to allow the building of game variations and rules improvements or development.

Anyone can edit these pages at any time. Just click on the 'Edit Page' link at the top or bottom of any page. If you don't know what a wiki is look at Wikipedia for a stunning example. 'Wiki wiki' mean 'super fast' in the Hawaiian language, or so I've read... Here's a detailed description of wikis.

This editing freedom comes at a price - these pages could be subject to vandalism. Any nasties done can be easily reversed, so a little vigilance is necessary. However, since our Magic Realm community is fairly small I would hope that such things are unlikely. (Famous last words!)

This site was prompted by Joel Yoder's recent flurry of great expansion ideas and thoughts. He asked that his messages NOT be put on a website because they are 'too fragmentary'. Perfect starter stuff for a wiki - just begging to be edited and enhanced! ...so I have taken the liberty of putting all his messages up here. (Now with Joel's blessing - thank you Joel! :-)

It would be a shame to have all that great work melt into the obscurity of email history. And if you think that anything here can be improved or rearranged effectively, feel free to do so...

Edit anything you like, but play nice. I suggest if you want to make a really big change to someone else's work, copy it to a new page and modify it there - then the less preferred version could be weeded out later... In any case, it is best to expect that your hard work will get modified, and not necessarily in ways you approve. That is the nature of wikis.

Finally, I don't see this wiki as replacing a real Magic Realm Website. If good things grow to some maturity here, they can then be lifted out and placed on a conventional non-editable site for posterity.
