The Dwarf
Overview Character strategy page originally posted on MagicRealm.netDwarf is a tough fighter and master of the caves. Whether he works alone or with a group, his goal will be the same: Enter the caves and conquer!
Dwarf often works alone simply because of his speed (or lack of it). Fortunately, he can master any monster in the game, and take down groups as well. His Cave Knowledge means he can access treasures more quickly than any other character.
Dwarf is capable of obtaining treasures no other character can get without a lot of time or magical assistance. His Tremendous move chits and offensive abilities are perfect for any well-rounded party. However, the party will have to work around his strengths, which means working almost exclusively in the caves.
Bring them on, but mind your armor. Dwarf is slow unless using his Duck chit, so keeping his helmet whole is primary. Also, make every effort to keep fatigue to a minimum. Even though you rest an extra asterisk each phase, you don't have a lot of phases for resting.
Dwarf is slow outdoors, and this can be bad news if his starting location is far from the Caves or Caverns. Also, this will limit his ability to return treasures for sale. His limited defense means that once he loses his helmet, he'll be spending most of his game time resting.
Whether with a group or not, move quickly to the Caves or Cavern tile and start looting. If those tiles are distant from your starting location, or from one another, consider teaming up, or hiring a native leader. Follow your new partner underground, then take the lead. Purchase a shield and/or extra helmet at first opportunity. Comments...add your comment here... |
